Reviews and Complaints
Do not use acima
They had charged me twice and turned off my auto pay. After I realized I wasn't being charged and only had one payment of $164 left they didnt care to contact me or send an email now I owe them $634 plus tax.
My 90 day ended on feb 16th and they are terrible at communicating. I was never informed about anything! The rep was incredibly rude. I will never use acima again.
Buyer beware!! They are a bunch of con artists and scammers. Its not worth it.
Unfortunately, I am not forced to pay. I was so excited to only have $164 left to pay and now Im paying $1000 something for a bed that isn't even worth it.

Preferred solution: TO LET ME PAY OFF WHAT I HAD TO PAY OFF THE $160 AS I WASNT INFORMED
They stiink. they cant even tell the differance between a lease or a loan
they put down on my credit report that I was delinquent on my loan and that it was a lease. Who in there right mind would lease tires!? I paid off where i bought them and did away with this company.
Preferred solution: take my name off my credit report
User's recommendation: don't use them
Unauthorized transactions
I called your office and I spoke to one of your consumer people and assured me that you would not do a third with drawl on my account for payments since I already gave them my new credit card and paid for this month, yet I have incurred three $35 penalties against me for your issue

DON'T DO IT, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND RUN FROM THESE PEOPLE
they are charging for furniture I did not receive, the when I tell them to deliver the furniture, they tell me I have to take out another line of credit. I must pay 60 dollars for a credit check ,and the lowest I can apply for is 1200 dollars. for furniture I already paid for.

Verified ReviewerVery big rip off, nothing but crooks!
Acima Credit is not credit but a total rip off. I bought some tires from a tire shop (or thought I had bought) it was a tire store owned by a Mexican.
I told him from the start that I did not have good credit. He told me that he could get me approved for a loan to buy the tires. I let him put on four tires (right from the start I should have run like *** He showed me four tires that were like new but not new. I told him I wanted new tires but he in the long run talked me into the four like new tires.
I was also talked into having him replace my front brakes and he did a part of my front end as well along with a alignment. All in all it came to $500.00. he got me set up with Acima credit but did all the stuff to get me what I thought was a loan on my phone for me. I did think it was a loan (not a lease).
When I got home I did see for the first time the credit contract from Acima for the first time in my e-mail. I nearly had a heart attack they had the what I thought was a loan for $500.00 with a repay charge of over a thousand dollars. I was never told about being able to pay it off in ninety days same as cash. How I found out about the 90 day pay out was from a mattress company that I am buying a mattress from.
He also told me he uses Acima. I told him no way in *** would I use that company. I told him about the high cost of having them let you buy something thru them. I also told him when I questioned Acima about the amount of financing charge, I was told it was not interest but it was leasing charges.
He told me that the person selling me the tires and who did the work on the truck. That I could pay it off in 90 days. He called Acima for me and I did talk to them and informed them that I was never told about the 90 day same as cash pay out. They could have cared less that they had used a crook for there loan!
I have paid back $727.04 at this point, I still owe quite a bit more. But they will never get another cent out of me. Two hundred twenty seven dollars and four cents is more than what I would have if I had been informed about the 90 day program. So they will never get another cent out of me.
I am going to force them to bring in a mediator to discuss this matter.
Don't get a loan with them, fact if you hear the name Acima Credit run out the door and don't turn back! THEY ARE NOTHING BUT BIG CROOKS THAT ABUSE PEOPLES TRUST IN LOAN COMPANY'S!

Beware of deceptive agreements.
I had a 297.00 computer repair and the owner of the shop told me to use Acima for a 90 day same as cash.
I was then told that because had not called them that my lease agreement was 900.00 for a computer I already owned. I called them and paid them off and saved about 400.00 dollars.
These people are nasty and deceptive beware before you arent told about the fine print.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ACIMA CREDIT!
This is nothing more than a den of thieves disguised at a legitimate business. They are stealing from people.
Stay away, do not sign any documents with this firm.
If you get a "lease" from them, which is, in essence, a line of credit, whether you purchase anything or not you will be paying that whole amount they provided to you.
I purchased a set of tires and front end alignment - total of about $350. I am now on the hook for the whole amount of over $1000. They have no reported my payment history to the credit companies but if I stop paying they surely will.
I am a financial prisoner of this firm.
Do not make my mistake. Run the other way!

NO DON"T DO BUISNESS HERE BRING YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE
A total rip off, im a single mom and what you have done its called STEALING my money, I can't believe that these people get away with a business like that, understand theres a help for people like me that i couldn't afford to pay in total the furniture but it's not ok when they take advantage like this, please hear my words DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE, ITS NOT WORTH IT, It's better to sleep on the floor than to pay the RIDICULOUS price of a bed like this, the only think I can tell you to the owner really BAD KARMA its coming in to your life, to you and your family, you see!!!!
They will still rob you of your money if merchandise you leased gives you more problems
I can see how this is beneficial. And it would have been if the merchandise I needed to lease was a sensor to my truck.
Big O tires needed to replace a mass air flow sensor, spark plugs and some fuel cleaner product. Total with labor was over $900. I am a single mom working full time and at the time i took the truck in, it was close to Christmas. I did not have $900 at the time.
Big O Tires informed me of the Acima program so that I can make payments until paid off. I was uncomfortable with that, but I needed to do whatever was needed to have a working vehicle.
Weeks later the truck dies on me. Took the truck to the dealership. After it being in the shop for 3 days and another $900+ later, they found that the aftermarket sensor big o put in (the one Im making payments every paycheck on) caused more issues...
so they replaced the sensor and the lease acima provides says that i am able to terminate the lease if i return the product. I call acima to terminate and they tell me they cannot terminate until ALL the products are returned. So that includes the perfectly working spark plugs... what Im understanding is that if i pay another $200 to replace perfectly working spark plugs, That is whats needed to terminate the lease?
Complete crap! i simply want to terminate my lease. As long as Ive made payments, i feel the other products are paid for. my issue is still not resolved.
I refuse to continue to make payments on a product that is not working...
currently sitting on my kitchen counter waiting to be sent back to acima.... but hey, as long as you get your money, thats all that you care about.
- Will take your money no matter what
Preferred solution: To terminate current lease

I called Acima Credit to cancel my lease agreement two days before my payment was due. First since I cancel they debit my bank account two days early right after I spoke to them to cancel.I hurry and closed my bank account before they could do it again but thankfully they got no money.
When I cancel two days before my payment date which was December 2,2019 no one told me I had to send them pictures of the furniture. But I found out 3 days later. I kept calling them to come pick up this furniture but the pictures I sent wasn't good enough they wanted pictures of the whole sofa, loveseat and chair. Then I resend the pictures and was informed that they had no one who could come where I live to pick up the furniture.
They ask me to donate and get a receipt in their name and pay one hundred and something odd dollars and they will close the account or option two pay them 800 plus odd dollars thats convenient to them and me. Dud I not cancel this lease cause I don't like the furniture. I will be talking to my state attorney tomorrow. I owe them nothing because they can't get the furniture.
It's their responsibility not mine because I cancel This is a lease not a credit card . I wish that I could give 0 stars.

WORST COMPANY TO LEASE WITH
I had a agreement with a company Mattress By Appointment where I was under the impression I would be paying a total amount of 1223.80 for a King Size Mattress Set and Full Size Mattress set along with 2 protectors for each bed. I agreed to allow Acima to take out bi weekly payments until the amount of 1181 was paid off because I paid 42.80 in taxes.
At least that’s what I thought the agreement the emailed to me which I dan say they did their due diligence after I signed to let me know when my early buy out date is but at that point I would have still owed 1088$ which is double what I agreed to pay. This entire experience was a complete disaster and I made a poor decision with trusting the sales rep at Mattress By Appointment.
Those mattress aren’t worth $2700 so that is complete nonsense for them to double charge me & all the could offer is for me to pay an additional $1200 on top of the $800 I already paid or come and pick the mattresses up, which was a complete insult! I hate I ever did business with this company they are rip offs and have horrible customer service!

Preferred solution: Pay what I originally agreed $1223 already paid $812 and I should only owe $368

Horrible Business and a Rip Off- Buyer’s Beware!
This is my second time using Acima. The first time I unfortunately paid the full lease agreement due to unforeseen circumstances...
ridiculous interest and all. I dealt with it and moved on, as I did not have the full payout amount at that time. (Shame on Me)
The second time I full-heartedly intended to pay off the loan within 90 days. However, I lost my job and was 9 days late paying off the loan.
SO, for that 9 days of being late, I paid over $1100 in interest. That really should be against the law. I paid the loan in full and will NEVER do business with their unethical company again!!!!!
One representative by the name of Briston advised that they could just come and pick up the furniture!
(What! How insulting) His Supervisor, Arath stated that he could not honor the 90 price or any discounts off the now extra $1100.
Acima you are losing good customers...you really need to revisit how you are treating your customers!
Preferred solution: The company to be flexible and have a realistic grace period. That does not result in the customer paying 1

they also want to make it difficult for you to return the item. did you change bank accounts?
how will you prevent them from charging your account.
I don't know how their contracts are even legal if what you signed with the merchant doesn't have any of the disclosures they are legally supposed to supply. The lease you get has no signature on it, but a typed named.
My bank was real nice about what was going on after I told them that two of the tires had come apart, and had been trying to get them to do something about the problem, so they blocked them from getting more than I had paid up to them doing so close to $900. They have tried to get money for two months now and they have been blocked.
I also talked to the Attorney Generals office here in Georgia and was told they are looking at them very hard as they are border line with what they are doing. They also told me that they have a number of reports about what they are doing. My boss is a Attorney and he told me to stop paying them as well. He told me that when I was told it was a loan that they can't charge you leasing fees on money they loan.
So I have been recording all calls to me and I will soon be turning them over to the Attorney Generals office. I have been up front with them (not like the lies I was told when I got the tires) and informed them that I am recording calls and will be turning them over to the AG's office. Over the time I have paid them, I have told them that the tires did not hold up and had to go and get four new tires to replace them. They could not have cared less about that and have never made the problem right.
According to the AG's office they are a bunce of crooks and I have yet to find a good review about them on line. Like I said the bank backed me up and blocked them from getting money from me.
